Well, I Finally Caved....

My children and husband may be pretty surprised to see that I have started a blog.  In fact they may even faint. My husband started a news letter many years ago (now a days this would be called a blog) and two of my six children write blogs so I guess that I could be considered a copy cat.

Many things have happened over the last several years and I have been a slacker and not written them down as I should.  I know that I should keep a journal and I used to before I got married and started having children.  I guess now that four of my children are married, my youngest son is getting ready to leave on a mission for our church and my youngest daughter is a Junior in high school I am ready to add something 'extra' to my life.  Hopefully something productive. This is why I have started a blog.

I have always enjoyed writing, in fact I have always been able to write papers well and put information together in an orderly fashion.  My blog probably will not be too humorous since I am a bit too practical for that, but sometimes they may accidentally be funny if I don't try to hard since life is just funny sometimes.

For now, the latest news for our family is that we have added two more grandchildren to the family;  Joseph Calvin Kohl born on November 6th and Peter Douglas Carr born on December 28th.  For cute pictures of these two cute little guys you should visit my facebook page.

Stephen leaves for the Missionary Training Center on the 19th of January and I am afraid that I am going to miss him a whole bunch. Even though I do not begrudge the Lord two years of my sons life, it is not easy to send him on a mission.  For the next two  years I will live for preparation day e-mails and handwritten letters that will come in the mail, of which I hope there are many.  (I worry about this a little since boys are not very good at letter writing.)  Enough of that I am starting to get teary eyed....

The new year has begun. I hope I can learn to love blogging as my girls do and that you will enjoy reading about what is going on in Missouri.
